Welcome

I've been thinking about what it means to really understand something. There's a difference between being able to repeat information and having that deeper kind of knowing where an idea actually clicks. Where you can turn it around in your mind and see it from angles you didn't expect. Where you start noticing the same patterns showing up in places that seem completely unrelated.

That's what I want to explore here. I'm trying to figure things out, and I'm sharing that process because I think there's value in thinking out loud.

I work on AI research and development. I've published work on steering language models and spend a lot of time thinking about how we build technology that genuinely helps people. I'm also drawn to contemplative practice and philosophy. These aren't separate interests for me. They're different ways of looking at questions I care about.

What you'll find here

I'll write about whatever I'm genuinely curious about at the time. That might be something technical about AI systems, or it might be connections between ideas that don't obviously belong together. Sometimes I just need to write to understand what I think about something.

I'm not trying to build an audience or optimize for engagement. I want to share things I find interesting and maybe help you see something familiar in a way you haven't before. If you're someone who likes noticing patterns and thinking through ideas, there might be something here for you.

I'll do my best to make things accessible without unnecessary jargon. I think when you truly understand something, you can explain it in a way that makes sense to people who haven't spent years with it.

I'll also try to be honest when I'm not certain about something. I'll probably get things wrong sometimes, and I expect my thinking to change as I learn more. Writing this is partly about having a place to work through ideas that aren't fully formed yet.

Posts won't be on any kind of schedule. I'll write when something genuinely pulls at me.

If anything here resonates with you, or if you think I'm getting something wrong and want to tell me why, I'd genuinely like to hear from you. You can reach me via email or find me on LinkedIn.

Thanks for being here.
